1280 MM

Installation at the 5M3 Exhibition Space

1280mm is a storefront installation for the 5M3 exhibition space in Basel. The design plays with the title of a monthly lecture series held at the exhibition space that is called Standpunkte - which means point of view or focal point. 400 individual cells all point towards a center at eye level on the sidewalk. As soon as pedestrians pass through this point of view, the installation dissolves to a maximum level of transparency allowing to look into the exhibition space. Moving away from the focal point, the installation gradually transforms to become fully opaque. The focal point is not a mere visual effect it furthermore guarantees that all pieces of the installation can be fabricated from flat sheet material. A simple connection system allows for an efficient assembly on site.
